Software testing procedures check the efficiency of a developed software and it is important that efficiency means describing several qualities that are desirable. Normally, efficiency in computer science can be described in the form of two qualities, that is, speed and the amount of space taken. It means the actual time taken for an operation to complete and the actual storage and memory used while constructing the program. Optimization of all parameters is the reason for checking the developed software for all its designated purposes.

This makes it more important for the testing of software by the developer for ensuring that the final product should be completely and wholly acceptable for the target clients and users. In short it can be said that software testing methodology is a process of checking a product in its performance for the sake of evaluating it.
